There won't be damage to anything...some people swear by the higher octance and only ever use the higher octane...I use the lower octance to save myself some money because it is not required.
The only time damage could occur is if using a lower octance gas then required, pinging is likely and pinging is the fuel igniting when the engine is not ready...an explosion pre-ignition. Which as you could imagine would be very hard on an engine

Thanks for the info,it makes good sense to me.I'll use the 87 octane also, as long as I can fuel up at a gas station.Also about a dollar cheaper than at marinas.GaryThere won't be a performance improvement. The higher octane is harder to burn, which prevents pinging. High Compression engines...turbo charges, superchargers do need it to prevent pinging.
