Normally this would not be a major concern but after buying a 1998 that had a broken hull in the first 7 days, getting a replacement boat and having that one last maybe 4 days, i am more than a little nervous to say the least. The 1998 was in the shop (canada from Texas) for 8 months....8 months to fix the hull. I was of course told i was the only one with the problem yet when i went to pick the boat up from the dealer they had 8 come back from hull repairs that were all 1998 speedsters (so their parts guy said). Funny, i thought i was the only one.
I bought the 20 foot as it answered many issues i had with the 1998. Smoother ride, larger, fuel injected, 4 stroke etc.
Anyone else heard any squeeking out of Speedster 200 coming from hull? The 1998 made a crackling noise when it's hull broke. I think they said the stringers had all given way on the 1998. I should also note that when i finally got it back 8 months later, I never had a problem again out of the 1998 hull. Of course Seadoo broke the windscreens and did various other damage to it when they had it etc.

This issue was with the gelcoat and/or underlying structure. It was reported by a member dealer, who actually went to bat for his customer and got him a new boat.

I would say 2 foot waves was about it.what type of water are we talking about here? I had the 370hp S200 in some nasty 3-4 bulk headed wind chop and with the boat flying more than it was in the water there was some noises. If you are just cruising in smooth water I would not think that you would be hearing any squeks at all.
no wake jumping or anything goofy. just cruising around on rough water

that's quite possible. I'll chunk the girlfriend down in the hull next time it's rough and see if she can find it. I'll just chunk a beer down there now and then to keep her happy.Could it possibly be some of the floatation foam squeaking aroundin the hull?

oh mine likes to drink and she will fit down there. if I put beer on tap down there she would never come up for air.Nah, don't do that... I'll loan out the wife, she should fit in there- and you won't even have to give her a beer....
