Has any one done any performance Mods to the 110hp Rotax engines. There is a company named Rossier Engineering that does mods for the Sea Doo Jet Ski's (increasing the head compression, jetting, etc.). They claim they can get 135hp out of the 800. I am extremely interested in gaining speed and torque in my 99 Speedster, but I would really like to hear from someone that has done some of the mods.

Do they have a web site or something? Can they do anything for my 720's?

Cool website. I would love to do all those mods to my 720's. Don't think I can swing the investment now tho. Bummer. Maybe just getting the cool air intakes and carb jet kits, would that be worthwhile?

Can anyone tell me the difference between the 98 & 99 Speedster? Does one have less problems than the other or are they basically the same?
Thanks,
Z

From what I hear the 98's had alot of hull problems but it was corrected in 99...Can anyone tell me the difference between the 98 & 99 Speedster? Does one have less problems than the other or are they basically the same?
Thanks,

Yeah smorgan is right, I believe a good amount of the 98's had to have full hull replacements.

Hey Kevin, I hate to bring up old topics but I had never heard of this. I was pointed to this by someone else. Can you shine any light on the subject, this is the first I have heard of this. What was wrong with the hulls.

I am still researching but as you pointed out this thread is quite old. The information came from another website during that same time frame, which I am trying to locate if it still exists.
I have found this post, http://seadoosportbo...eekingproblems/, that also discuss 1998 Speedster hull problems.
Keep you posted with what I dig up.

Another link, http://www.jetboatin...5&threadid=7427, on another site.
And one more, http://jetboating.ne...1&threadid=5285.
Go through this search list if it lets me link directly, http://jetboating.ne...,10,11,12,13,14. If not search that website for '98 crack' and you will see quite a bit of threads regarding these issues.

Thanks Kevin, that was the first I had heard of hull issues. I am guessing if there was a major problem mine would have been fixed way before now. I have only owned it 2 years. I guess I need to crawl in the ski locker and take a look. Even though it was a serious defect, I doubt SD would do anything about it now. If I have an issue,I will just file an insurance claim.
