Hi guys
I've owned jetskis for a few years now and I'm keen to buy a used Speedster 150. Probably go the 155 to keep fuel and maintenance costs down.
Just wondering if the owners here could comment on what to look out for in particular when buying one of these. I know how to check pump clearances, impellor wear, know what the engine should sound and run like etc.
Are there any other Speedster-specific weak spots though e.g. Hull cracking, electrical, steering probs etc?
Thanks in advance.

Check this post, http://seadoosportbo...ith-a-question/, as I included some things to check for when looking at purchasing a boat.

Thanks. Bought one a few weeks ago. 2008 Speedster 150 155 hp model. I'm happy with it, good fun to drive. Went non-SC to save money and for increased reliability. Agree with consensus that the 155hp is a bit underpowered but does the job just. Coming from my 250x (250hp jetski) it uses a lot less fuel!

A question about "underpowered" Will it pull a 200 lb water skier starting with a single ski? Thanks

WHAT IS THE SITUATION WITH CERAMIC WASHERS PRE-2008 MODEL SEADOO ENGINES??----puchased a 2006 Sportster 215 SC and am afraid of using it--hearing horror stories about the ceramic washers breaking internally and causing major engine damage--strongly urged to do a change-out of the washers to metal or even going to the extent of rebuilding the super-charger with the kit that includes the washers. It seems like alot of owners are not even aware of this situation--we're talking about a repair bill from $450.00 to change out the washers to $850.00 for the super-charger rebuild, both including labor--WHAT SAY YOU OTHER MEMBERS?????????????---thanks---Steve

I am about 190 and wakeboard and it would pull me out okay. I never tried to slalom, but I imagine if you are good at dragging for a little bit, it would pull you up, but hold your breath. I now have a 215sc engine and it will pull you up no problem. I may try a slalom next time I am out there and let you know how that engine does in comparison.
