I just bought a used 2000 Seadoo Challenger with a v-6 Mercruiser. There is one slight problem. I noticed that when it gets up to higher speeds, it will not turn to the right. It turns left perfectly, and there is no problem when going slower and it turns right ok when ideling. Any ideas? There is a plate below the drive area that was bent, and I straightend it up, but I haven't put it in the water since then. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Mike

The bent ride plate could definitely affect the high speed handling. The only way to tell for sure though is to get the boat back in the water and give it a try. Before you do though have a look at the boat on the trailer and make sure the nozzle moves the same amount in both directions.

Thanks so much for the reply. When its on the trailer, and I turn the steering wheel left & right, the venturi (where the water propells out to move the boat) turns just fine. It goes all the way left, and all the way right when the steering wheel is turned. Thats the wierd thing. I do need to put it back in the water, but I have doubts that the ride plate could make it drive like that. It was bent on the right hand side, so who knows. Thanks for the reply.
