First I wanna start by Saying I'm a newb to SeaDoo's...I just purchased a 2007 speedster 150 with the 155 hp engine. The boat has only 4 hours on it. On a calm day on glass with just me on the boat The top speed registers at 37 mph. Is this correct? The other day with two of us on the boat we raced my friend on his rinker and pulled away from him my speedo read 35 and his read 52. who's speedo is wrong?Either way it is a lot of fun. I dont like the throttle limiter in reverse. It kinda hinders any cool sub moves. Thanks for the help...

Your speedo need to be ajusted!...your boat is supposed to top at near 50mph

Thanks, It seemed a lil faster than the speedo read. I guess I will have it checked out when i take it in for the 10 hr service. although I'm not completely convinced in the dealerships competence. It took them an hour and a half to get the DESS key programmed when i bought the boat.

Hi I just purchased a 2007 215hp speedster two weeks ago. I only have a bout 3 hours on it. It will go about 52mph on clam water, what is the top speed for this model?? Are there any bolt on mods? thanks

Just had my boat on the lake this weekend and used a gps to find the top speed.. 47.8 mph with a full tank of fuel and just me and a case of beer in it. on light chop.  the speedo read anywhere from 34 to 37 mph.

The top speed for your boat is around 56-57mph, so maybe your speedometer isn't well adjusted too. But its not recommand to run your boat at top speed during the first 10 hours especially when you get the supercharged engine..

SC thats for the info. When should I take it into the dealer to get the speedo adjusted??

yep  

First : Change the ceramic washers for metal washers in your supercharger..it  will be mutch more reliable..

You can do alot of modifications... the 4tec engine can be bost up to 300hp

Mods like : Custom Air Intake, Ride plate holes filled, Stainless Wear Ring gonna give you a top speed of GPS'd 59.4mph on a Speedster 150 for exemple..

This may seem like a dumb question supercharged but what will filling i the holes on the ride plate do?? would it help a non sc 4 tec?

The digital display speedometer is not adjustable as was the analog gauges used up through 2006. We have had some moderate success moving the sensor up and down as was required on the Speedster 200 a couple of years ago but you have to be very careful with that adjustment. We have asked to have something added to the diagnostic software to allow adjustment for speed on the digital displays but that hasn't happened yet, I guess getting the hour meters working is still the top priority! One note about break in, the owners manual allows for "brief" periods with variation of RPM above 3/4 throttle, sustained full throttle operation is not recommended. Enjoy your boat!

A few questions for ya.
1. Is it possible for me to winterize mt boat myself?
2. since I do not have 10 hours on the boat yet and with the season ending I am thinking of just waiting until next year to take it in for the 10 hr. service. Do you have any ideas as to how much that service usually costs? thanks for the info!

First let me say there is a difference between winterizing and performing an end of season annual maintenance. Winterizing is not hard to do, just run RV type Freeze Ban through the engine, fog the engine, put enzyme based fuel stabilizer in (if you are using ethanol fuel) and maintain a full tank, etc. The end of season maintenance involves oil and filter changes, final drive grease checking and replacement, and a safety inspection of the fuel lines, exhaust system, steering at both ends, shifter at both ends, etc. Obviously compentence is required for all of those things however we like to emphasize the importance of pressure testing the rear cone (recommended in the Seadoo service manual) to insure the O rings were installed correctly. For SCIC engines it gets more complicated because of the intercooler needing to be winterized separately. With respect to waiting for the ten hour service, I prefer not to leave dirty oil in the engine but with the few hours you have it probably wouldn't be a bad thing. I hope that helps a little. By the way, do you plan to run synthetic oil in your engine?

Hi Kevin, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought synthetic oil is not recomended for the supercharged engine (according to the manual). I also got up to 55mph hour last weekended at a calm lake

I just recently purchased an 07 Speedster 215 HP Supercharged with 15 hours on it. Prior to being able to open it up with the OEM impeller and experience the top speed, I sucked a rock in at the launch ramp on my second day     ... I then replaced the OEM impeller for a Srx-Cd-14/19 Solas Concord model myself. Wasn't too hard    

I then finally had a opportunity to open the throttle to full and on the digital gauges I got a top speed of 63 MPH with two of us in the boat. Is that really possible or is my speedo off ? It was a flat calm water surface.

I was only expecting around 50 mph.
