Although it would be nice to just stick a chip in the ECM that is not the only thing that makes the 255 HO different from the 215 IC. In addition there are different fuel injectors, different calibration in the ECM for the new exhaust system and new fuel pump, different valve spring retainers, different intake manifold (back to the intake that was on the 185 SC), larger and higher pressure supercharger, new oil system for the supercharger, new PTO cover, new throttle body assembly, different piston spray nozzle, different exhaust manifold, and a different rev limiter strategy. The drive shaft is longer, the pump support is longer, the venturi is larger, the ride plate is different, the impeller is different, and last but not least the water intake grate is different. Those are just the major things! I think that is a bit more than the chip alone could do!! Keep in mind those are all changes to the personal watercraft, the sport boat would require the same or more to get 255 HP!

Ooops! I thought it will be as simple as the bolt-on K&N high flow intake kits(cars) that claim up to 21hp boost. I did not realize that I need to do all of those mods! Funny- the seadoo tech(he has a 215pwc) never mentioned "all" of the other upgrades necessary to get the extra juice.
I wonder what's the cheapest and safest(so not to void warranty) way to gain more hp? Bigger impeller? He-he-he...I just thought I'd ask...
Thanks for all of the info Kevin Seeber!!!!!
