flooded engine?

Because of lots of rain and the boat's nose tilting forward a lot of water ended up in the lower part of the boat. I didn't notice that and when towing the boat the water flushed through a hole in the rear part of the boat into the engine compartment, it reached almost half way up to the spark plugs and I am not sure whether at some moment it covered them. Is it really bad? What am I supposed to do? No manual. And why is that hole there, I'd imagine that if a lot of water flushes into the boat you don't want it to end up in the engine comp.??

I had that same engine, and that happened to me in salt water! Forgot to put the plugs, anchored, went surfing and when I came back, engine was flooded. Was able to solve the problem right there, and had no further problems, so you should be ok if you do this:Hi!

1. Take the sparks oout and secure the cables in the plug provided in the engine compartment.
2. Spray Bombardier Quick Lube or similar oil (not WD40) onto cylinders.
3. Crak the engine so that oil gets distributed in cylinders and chamberk - be sure the spark cables are secured as described in (2) above;
4. Spray some more oil and ppurt sparksand cable back on.
5. Open plug on carburator silencer (the big black cover has a plug in the middle) and spray some Lube into int.
6. Turn engine on, and flush with fresh water;
7. While flushing, spray some more Lube onto silencer.
As I told you, this happened to me in the sea, and I always carry lube, so I was able to resolve the problem at sea and flush back home.
Also, check why your bilge pump did not work!

I think he meant trailering insteat of towing. I'm not sure if water came out of the drain (bilge pump) hole, or maybe the flushing adapter (where you put the hose), which is also located in the rear in these boats. So another thing to check is if you have the plug installed for the flushing adapter!you mentioned towing the boat? you are supposed to fit a clamp to the water box hose when towing so water is not forced into the engine - maybe this was the problem???? maybe not

no water came out from the spark pluges so I think/hope it's ok. Still it seems a bit weird to me that there's a hole connecting the front of the boat to the engines, in case of a lot of water in the front of the boat some will end up in the boat (where the anchor and fenders are...) and then into the engine, doesn't make sense, it should flush outside the boat as the other ones do or just stay there, not good in case the boat gets submerged then your engines will be flooded 100%.
And yes, I ment trailering, not towing.
I'll test the boat today, should be fine.
One more thing, are there any essential operations when storing the boat at the end of the season, spraying lube into cilinders is one, what else?
