Jake,The problem however is the speedometer. It will top out at about 45 mph but will on ocassion jump to the mid 50's. It feels like I'm going very fast but the speedo normally says otherwise. Is there any type of test or adjustment I can try to correct this?
Check this out and borrow someone's GPS for a day.

Jake,Hi everybody. I just purchased an scic a few days ago and I had a couple of questions that I'm hoping can be answered by someone on this forum. First, the accelleration, speed and handeling are incredible. Everything I had hoped for. The problem however is the speedometer. It will top out at about 45 mph but will on ocassion jump to the mid 50's. It feels like I'm going very fast but the speedo normally says otherwise. Is there any type of test or adjustment I can try to correct this? Has anybody else had this problem? Or is 45 it for my boat? I do not have a GPS to use. Also, my boat was a dealer demo with 12 hours on the engine. The dealer completed the 10 hour checkup and the boat was in like new condition. Could something have happened during these 12 hours? My second question refers to my bilge pump. When I turn it on there is no sound whatsoever. Does the water level need to be at a certain level for the motor to kick on, or is there a problem with the pump? Thank you for any help or ideas.
Cheers,
Jake
I have been enjoying my SCIC for 4 months now and have experienced the same problem with my speedo. I have used a friends GPS and have tracked my boat doing 57mph with 2 adults (the speedo read 48mph). Good news is that it is pretty accurate at slower speeds (below 35mph).
I too have wondered about the bilge pump as it is very quiet and I have yet to see it pump water out. I just pulled my boat out of the water for the first time in over two weeks and took out the drain plugs......not much water came out. I am now guessing that it works fine.

Thanks for the replies on the speedo and bilge pump. I guess I feel better knowing that it isn't an isolated case, but I do get a little discouraged when I spend hard earned money and problems arise from the get go. The dealer is scheduling for service calls 4 1/2 weeks out! Thats a long time to wait. I took the Doo out last night with a friend who is a competitive skiier on smooth as glass water. The look on his face when I hit the throttle was just short of fright. His cheeks were flapping and he had the look of a deer in headlights. Even though the speedo showed 42 mph, we both knew otherwise. I did suffer another problem on our second high speed pass. As we were both grinning ear to ear, my steering wheel cover flew off. Thats right, the cover took off, conked me in the noggin and disappeared into the oblivion. The dealer said he'd mail me another. Are they keeping these in stock? Has this happened to anybody else? Hopefully, I won't experience anymore problems. On the positive side, the boat attracts crowds. People like the looks and are curious. One guy told me it was the sexiest boat he had ever seen. I would have rather had the comment come from his girlfriend, but what the heck right? Everybody asks. how fast does it go? My answer is get a GPS and lets find out. No takers yet. By the way, what is a "sub move"?Hi everybody. I just purchased an scic a few days ago and I had a couple of questions that I'm hoping can be answered by someone on this forum.
