Anyone know how I can boost the reception of my FM radio? Seems like I need a better antenna. I want to keep it concealed. Any suggestions?

The only way I know to increase your radio's reception and still be stealthy is to ditch that stock POS radio and get a unit that has better FM sensitivity. Additionally you'll get radio that can read multiple disc formats and more (clean) watts/channel.Anyone know how I can boost the reception of my FM radio? Seems like I need a better antenna. I want to keep it concealed. Any suggestions?

Before the boating season, I bought a Clarion marine AM/FM/CD unit and a pair of closeout marine Infinity 6.5" speakers. Wow.....major improvement in sound quality, FM reception, etc. Got everything from Boater's World. Anyhow.......
If you must keep your existing radio, your only other solution would be an FM booster from Radio Shack. Not sure how well it'll work in a marine enviroment so YMMV.
Not sure if you have room, but you could get fancy and install a retractable antenna. Again, I don't know any that are marine rated, so it's lifespan might be short.
Your last solution would be a high gain external antenna. The down side is that it's visible. The up side is you can use it for both your AM/FM radio and your VHF radio.
