New to jet boats. Bought an 08 180SE. Tried water skiing today and it seems this 215HP boat has a hard time pulling a skier. With my previous boats I put the throttle down . With this boat it seems like I am "spinning my wheels" where it revs to 8K rpm but doesn't have any power. Problem with the boat or my technique? If it is the boat what is the problem/remedy??

Update-Brought in to dealer-impeller/ring/carbon seal OK. The pump gasket did have a rip. Tried it out and somewhat better but still cavitates. I have read on the internet where some people can slam the throttle on this boat and get no cavitation while others need to feather the throttle. Probably try an aftermarket impeller next to see if that makes a difference
