Aloha from Hawaii, does anyone have any info on the 4tec engines the Speedster 200 is using? I think they have been it their jet skies for a couple of years now and I’m wondering how they hold up. I currently have a 98 Challenger 1800 and have had nothing but problems w/ the 2 stoke engines (carburetor problems, plugs fouling all the time etc) I also had a 96 speedster but did not see as many problems. I’m thinking about trading up to the Speedster 200 because of the 4 strokes and the freshwater cooling which is a big plus in saltwater w/ temps in the 70’s.

This is the same motor they use in their Elite Snowmobile. The motor, as far as I know, is bullett proof... I have heard of no problems with the motor at all.. Very dependable..
I had a 2002 Utopia 185 that I sold last fall to get the Speedster 200... My only reason for the change, is the Motors.. No more blue smog with the 4 stroke..
The closed loop cooling system will be a major plus for the Salt Water as well.

The Motor has been out about 4 years now. So far it's been totally reliable...
