Sorry for this post thumper. What with us Yanks using the 4th of July to celebrate us having kicked you guys outta this country. Just kiddin', just kiddin'.
Anyhow.....anyone got plans for the 4th they'd like to talk about?
Me???? I found a house to rent on Lake Thurmond so the wife, kid, dog, and I will be spending an entire week there. It's right on the water with its own floating dock and the house sounds wonderful. The owners even allow pets which shocked me. OTOH....this place may be too good and we won't wanna leave!
Although our 5 year old loves the water, she's never been towed in a tube or anything, so we're gonna try and get her to try it. I'll probably have a go at the tube first and when she sees me crash & burn a few times, her competitive spirit will kick in and override her fear. We've also got some trainer ski's for her (she doesn't know that yet) so if she does the tube thing and is comfortable, we'll try to talk her into trying the skis. Should be interesting......
Waiting for the 4th to get here is gonna make for a looooooooong two weeks.
Tom

Lake Thurmond, what a good choice! This is the lake I grew up on, it is a huge and beautiful lake. Some great water to tube in out by the dam.
Most likely we will go out on Allatoona Lake since it is only about a mile down the road.

I will be heading down to Panama City Beach the night of the 30th and staying through the 10th. I will have the Speedster in tow, so its gonna be a blast!! Hopefully those pesky Tropical storms wont stir up while we are down there!!

I'll be going up the road and get a nice spot on a beach at Lake Tahoe. Specifically...Sand Harbor for those of you familiar with Lake Tahoe. No need to camp since we live only 30 minutes away. We're looking at July 3 and 4. A butt load of family members will be attending. It should be a good time with Hawaii-like clear and glassy water.
