ok, what is the tradition of boat names. Is it whatever goes, or bad luck to name it a guy's name or what? I only ask cause i wanted to name it after family member that passed away, but if it is not customary i won't name it after him.

I believe you should name it whatever comes to mind and means something to you. Mine never had a name except "the Boat".. and it never came when called anyway..... I've seen lots of other boats with names other than a female name, so whatever floats yer.... um ... boat.ok, what is the tradition of boat names. remember that in the unlikely event of having to call the coastguard
you may have to repeat the name of the boat 3 times - pan pan or mayday calls
dont panic is a popular boat name
