can anyone identify the diferent parts within the impeller housing for me
i am aware of the stators - wear ring impeller and pump
i just dont know which is which
i will attach a photo

a - stators
b - impeller
c - wear ring
d - pump (looks like aircraft engine turbine)
am i close?

Close. In your photo:
A-points to an impeller blade. Looks like a 4 blade.
B- points to the wear ring (grey)
C- points to a stator vane. So does D.
The pump would be classified as the entire assembly, from impeller aft.

so what does the stator vane doo - is it fixed to the drive shaft as the impeller or something else????,,....

The vanes take the swirling motion and settle it out for more efficient thrust. The end of the pump is the nozzle which controls the venturi effect and helps accellerate the water for more thrust, this is not to be confused with the steering nozzle which is the last piece sticking out from the pump area.

The only rotating part is the impeller. The stater vanes are "fixed" and just take the "spin" out of the water stream as it leaves the impeller. You can see the angle on them in your picture.does the stator vane spin freely or is it driven?
