Hi, great forum here. I am in the process of buying a 1998 Speedster. After making the down payment I started doing some research and am finding that there were problems with the hull with early 98 models. Does anyone know how I can find out if this paticular boat has a good/defective hull?
Cheers,
Dan

You could take it to a gelcote repair shop and have them inspect it.

I am the 2nd owner of my 98 speedster, and can say that my hull has 0 problems. I have read that it's possible for the hull to become seperated, but depending how hard you ride it, it should not be a problem.Hi, great forum here. I am in the process of buying a 1998 Speedster. The 98 was known for cracks around the seat pedestals. Some did, some didn't. I don't know of any official recalls on the hull. If in doubt, have it inspected by a dealer and/or a good fiberglass man. It's your money- spend it wisely. You should also be able to find out if it is an early model or late model..
