Hey Folks.... After a long hunt for a 180 SP I finally had to settle for a 210 SP (now I am glad I never found a 180!!!!)

 

My question for you is regarding the tower height as I was to store this boat in the garage.

 

I know that the tower can fold down but that will still be too high for the garage (the garage door is only 7 feet tall)

 

I have been given conflicting stories from dealers on whether or not the tower can actually fold down below the windshield hight and if it does not, how hard it is to disconnect the entire tower when I back in into the garage.

 

Please help? I really do not want to get the boat home to find out I cannot get it in the garage door (or I will be knocking out some bricks!!!!)

 

also... any feedback you can give me on this boat would be appreciated. Does it go as good as it looks!

You probably have your boat by now. The tower design has changed over time. I have a 2012 Challenger 210 with a tower. The tower can be lowered ONTO THE TOP OF THE WINDSHIELD. This is why the tower has cushions installed on each side. I have not put it in the garage because it doesn't look like it will fit under the door. Here is idea for you if your are trying to get your boat in the garage. I have read in a forum somewhere that someone got it into their garage by lowering the trailer hitch receiver onto a really low garage dolly and pushing the boat into the garage.

hey guys... Yes.. I am now the very happy owner of a 210 SP... Just an absolutely wicked boat.....can't even imagine there being a nicer one out there.

 

Had it out for the first time over the weekend and it was awesome (other than getting a piece of rope in the impeller but I managed to get it out once I brought it home)

 

As many have pointed out, the tower does fold down but sits on the top of the windshield....not near enough to get in in the garage which has a 7 foot garage door...........but what we did was lower the tower and remove the bolts from the pivot points. We then laid the tower VERY VERY carefully on the bow and wrapped a towel around each disconnected pivot point and it just rested on the side of the boat.

 

I was then able to get the boat in the garage. It takes 3 people to do and turns out not very practical to put on and off every weekend. I changed the plan and have the boat parked in the driveway for the summer but definitely in the winter I will do as described and put it in the garage.

 

By far the most important aspect of all of this is that I was able to keep my promise to the wife that it would fit in the garage!!!!!!! after I jammed it in once, all bets are off after that!!!!

Planning to do the same as you this year!   I like to have the boat inside my garage instead of out in the open at the storage lot.

Especially here in Edmonton,  Alberta where the winters are quite cold...

 

We really like our SP 210...
