Anyone experience a MAJOR engine failure on this boat? I am actually considering buying a boat with a Rotax engine contrary to my gut instincts!!

I've seen you posting this on two boards and I am convinced you should just buy a Sugar Sand

Why would you not want a Rotax? Just asking... have you had a bad experience with one? I just sold a 97 Speedster with twins- they held up extremely well and never had a failure of any kind. I know you are aware that Rotax manufactures engines for other applications too.Anyone experience a MAJOR engine failure on this boat? The Rotax was an extremely strong engine in the CanAm motorcycle as well.
It all has to do with maintaining the craft. If you don't take care of a Mercury powerhead, it will fail with time, just like any other engine. 2 stroke or 4 stroke, all engines have that certain degree of TLC that they need to keep on DOOin it.
I would not hesitate to buy another Rotax powered craft.
1997 Seadoo XP 800 (sorry, at least it is a DOO!!!)

Aside from new plugs and cleaning your tubes and engine, what other forms of TLC do you reccomend to ensure a long lasting life on a 2 stroke Rotax 947. THX
Oh and another question for everyone is, does anyone know of a noise baffling/reducer material that I can use to make my "loud as hell" 2 stroke engine a little more bareable while I'm driving through a REALLY long "no wake zone" with music playing that i cannot hear. THX!!!
