Throttle position incorrect

Got my Challenger 1800 back in the water after a winter engine rebuild. I keep it at my lakehouse on an air lift, and it is 90 minutes away from the dealer.
At less than full throttle positions, the throttles have to be adjusted as much as 3 inches apart to get the engines at the same RPM.
Can someone talk about what i can do to fix this without having to take the boat out of the water and haul it to the dealer.
I do have a service manual in case you want to point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance!

The cables can be adjusted at the throttle/shift assembly easily, and this should be in the service manual . There are adjustments on my 97 similar to a motorcycle brake/clutch cable adjuster..

Thanks Tiggerman. Yes they were out of line before the rebuild, but not as bad.First, you need to make sure that it is the cables that need adjusting, not an operating issue- were they out of line before the rebuild?

Removing the airboxes and flame arrestors so I could see the butterfly valves. Then, when I made sure they were both at WOT, I adjusted the slack out of the cable(s). That was it. Of course, it took 4 hands to do, so get help. Mine weren't really bad but one was noticeably further forward than the other at midrange.
