i have recently found stree crack on my transom eyes - probably caused from boat moving on trailer.
heres the problem - straps to tight = stress cracks
straps to loose = boat bouncing around = more problems
idea -
get say 3 fairly high density rubber pads say 1 inch thick and put them at all tie down points so something can take up some slack whilst on trailer - have straps tight but the rubber pads will fit over eyes and allow a small amount of movement to prevent stress cracks forming.
any ideas or suggestions as why this wouldnt work?
stress cracks

Ya, i worry about that too. You really can't win unless you do add some sort of protection. I'm going to look into something this year. Last year I had problems with banging because of the vehicle I was towing with was too high. I fixed that, but I still worry that It's too tight when on the trailer.
Oh ya, one other thing. That blinking eye is pretty freaky. I catch myself staring at it sometimes. Hypnotic...
