I am new to this forum, and I'm sorry for posting this in the wrong place. I couldn't find the proper place to post it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I purchased a 1997 Sportster. The seller delivered the seadoo and put it in the water for my wife. She drove it for about 5 minutes to a dock, where it sat for 3 days until I arrived. When we took the boat out, we noticed it didn't accelerate above maybe 15 mph. We pulled it up to get some gas and then we had a lot of trouble starting it again. We finally got it started, but within 5 minutes the engine cut out and wouldn't restart. We rowed to shore and looked in the engine compartment, which was filled with at least several gallons of water.

The seller is telling me that it must have been something that I did, and that he gave it to me in perfect condition. My understanding is that the bilge pump should work automatically.
