I'm coming across a few of the button caps that are screwed into the boat for the carpet and seats are simply coming out from use. Any ideas on how to repair them? They appear to be screws that are simply stripped and can no longer stay screwed in. I think i'm screwed!
Let me know if you've come across this or may have some ideas to run with.

This forum ROCKS!! JEEZ, why didn't I think of THAT. Kevin, thank you very much.
Really though, I've found this group of owners some of the very best and helpful group.

Just got back from a day on the water (Excellent stuff!) and noticed the front starboard body cushion has come a bit loose. Didn't get a chance to check it out in detail as I was trying to get out of the water before closing. Will take a closer look in the next day or two. Hope it's something I can DIY.

If the screw on the button is stripped, you should replace the button/screw. I have found the button/screws and the button that goes on the carpet at my local hardware store or Amazon.

I like Kevin's suggestion of that supper glue. As an alternative, I tend to utilize Marine Silicone. I know it is not a tough as super glue, but it is an alternative.

I used white marine tex to fix a stripped screw in the floor of mine. (carpet snaps)

Has held up to traffic and abuse for 3 years.

I thought the best bet was to remove them all and use hydroturf?

Why not just get a Marine Snap repair kit, about 25 bucks from Bass Pro Shop or any Marine Dealer? It included new snaps (top and bottoms) plus the tool to replace them with and the snaps that screw into the floor http://www.basspro.c...SSELL_THUMBNAIL

marine tex. just make sure you let it fully cure (24hrs?) before use.

ordered mine last week--tired of the mildew on the underside of the carpet. i hope the HT is as good as everyone else says...

I just replaced the stinky carpet with HT last week,,,,SOOOO MUCH better when you return from the lake...just rinse and store...no more lifting out the "Wet dog" carpet to dry for a few days!

Are there any protective products that can be used on the OEM snap in carpet to keep it from smelling so quickly? I've done some research, and I believe I would rather periodically remove and machine wash the carpet vs using Hydro-Turf that has to be washed down after every use and replaced after 4-5 seasons.
