Hello Fellow Boaters.

I have a 2001 Utopia 185 with the Optimax 200 six. Since I live in Central NY and have a camp on the St.Lawrence River most of my enjoyment comes from summer boating with long periods of Hard Water(ICE). This means from November until April the boat is winterized and covered with Shrink Wrap.

The issue is not the any of the above but since I have owned the boat each spring I am faced with the Ethenol Gas issue of water. For the last two years I have been trusting of the dealer winterization and found myself having to replace the water seperator fuel filter and putting half a quart of K 100 in the gas.
after getting towed to the dock.

Is the an issue I have to face every year and are others facing it also????

On the brighter side I love this boat... I just installed a new sound system and a Garmin 421 GPS the wife and I are going to use it for exploring the Thousand Islands. With the shallow draft and the rocks in the river we can go places others up here only dream to see and are limited by the lower unit.

If you see a Utopia with bikes on the back it will more than likely be us, as we plan on doing some island exploring on the larger ones by bike.

Hello Jeff! We are often out on the thousand Islands also in our new to us '02 Utopia-its as great place for these boats. As to winterization, our boat was fogged, fluids changed, and with gas stabilizer, we didn't have a problem .
