Hey Thumper I didn't take offence to it at all...I even found one of the jokes funny!

I agree that Canadians are extremely tolerant and, perhaps polite to a fault. That's why I couched the remark in what I thought would be as inoffensive language as possible.

I'm not in any way offended by the posting of jokes, I just don't believe it will have the desired effect that Gapper's looking for. In fact, IMO, it could have the effect of causing people to leave. It's all my own opinion and, afterall, Gapper did ask what people thought!

This is just something I put together for some fun on the website.  When you reach a certain number of posts your member title/rank (DOO skill level) will change.  Let me know what you guys think of this.  

I have attached the member title/rank outline, it will show you the titles/ranks and the number of posted needed to achieve them.

I appreciate that your goal is to get more activity by encouraging members to post more. However, IMO you're encouraging frivilous posts from members who want to be considered to be more than a "novice" dooer. (I also don't like the handle dooer as it infringes on my handle.)

If your goal is to get a lot of posts, then continue with this title/rank thingy. However, I find the result has been that there is too much unrelated chatter which tends to clutter the board thereby making the board irrelevant.

With all doo respect to our friend across the pond, I don't come to this site to get my latest dose of British humour.
