This question is for anyone who has an Islandia with a Merc 240 EFI drive. I am beginning to suspect that I may have a problem with jet drive. According to my instruments the boat speed is about 7-8 MPH when the engine RPMs are 3000. Is that normal or am I correct in assuming that there maybe something wrong with the drive assembly? Lake Conroe is somewhat choppy so I am not sure if that has any effects on the boat performance.
Thanks looking!

We have a 2002 Islandia with the 240 EFI. We usually have 4-6 adults and can cruise at 35 mph @ 5000rpm. At W.O.T we can go
about 43mph @ 5500rpm. We did add a PLACE DIVERTER which is a single "trim tab" to increase performance and it helped. But this boat was designed for families with small children (like the water fountain) and not to be a ski/wakeboard speed boat.
I typically move from idle to 5000rpm to get up on plane and then back off to 3500rpm to pull a wakeboarder at 25mph. Hope this data helps compare to your experience.

Hey Boyd. Does your boat max out at 5500 RPM? My 2001 Islandia only goes 30 mph and at 5300-5400 RPM. When I'm loaded it'll only go 15mph. If you top out at 5500RPM then I'll conclude that it's my impeller that is the problem.
Thanks!

Boyd,
Curious what diverted you used. If it worked that well if would consider it. I am short and end up standing when the nose is above the horizon. Kills my legs and is not conducive to snuggle time with the wife.
Thanks
