Help! Is it possible to 'split' a 2 channel marine stereo into 4 channels?

Depends on what you're trying to accomplish. If you just want sound from four speakers, then you can just connect two speakers to each channel.
Before you do that, you must ensure that your stereo is capable driving a 2 Ohm load. Most marine speakers are 4 Ohm, so placing two in parallel will cut the load impedance in half. This in turn may cause your stereo system to output more power than it's rating.
