IT WOULD PROBABLY BE CHEAPER TO BUY ONE IN THE US AND FLY THERE EVERY WEEKEND TO USE IT !!!!!

Wow, congrats on the purchase. That's a lot of $$$ but you're going to have a whale of a time so it'll be all worth it. That price is probably not the normal price right? It's probably has some mark ups since you got the priviledge of having the very first one in the UK.

BTW - Is it cold there now to be out in the water?

basically if you pay $10 for something we pay £10 it works from
seadoo's to 99p cheesburgers at mcdonalds

yes the water is cold at the moment - about 12 degrees centigrade but it does go up to about 18 in summer - cant w8

so here goes - this is my first glimpse of my new boat as demonstrated by Len Russel of Russel Powerboats -

as it was under 10 hours he said it was half throttle !

yeah right

anyway enjoy - you will have to imagine the sun shining we dont get much in january!

well it hasnt done its 10 hours first service yet so was told to keep it under half throttle.

it revs to 8000 rpm

at about 4500 we were doing about 45mph - will post more as i get used to it - i am reliably told it will do 65mph no problem

the really amazing thing to me was its acceleration

basically it felt like a 900cc rice burner with no crash helmet, you really do need the grab handles if you open the throttle from a standing start.

will be watching fuel consumption closely - boattest .com tested the same engine in the pwc - that was burning 5us gals/hr at 32mph if i remember rightly - so as its half the weight - i am banking on it burning 10us gals/hr for skiing at say 26-30mph
i maybe wiidly off the mark but it should be somewhere around there - my last boat was a 360da searay with twin 5.7mercruisers so i should see a saving!!!!!!!!

the last two videos are showing len russell demonstrating the boat to us at russell powerboats lake near reading in the uk - shortly afterwards we towed it 500 miles to cornwall (mildest part of uk) and since then we have had a very cold spell of weather - roll on summer.

we will be using it in the sea, we are a couple of miles from the north coast and the south coast of cornwall so we generally have access to reasonably flat water on iether coast depending on the wind direction, we have a few estuaries and ski areas nearby also.

only one problem in the uk - most authorities where you can launch your boat absolutely prohibit jet bikes as much as they can - basically because of speed etc etc - so i am hoping that we dont come across this prejudice in a jet boat, unlike the states and canada these boats are very rare indeed so we will be noticed!

10 gph sounds a lot! ... if you comprare to the rxp on boattest its not 5gph its 2.8 gph.....and the speedster 200 at 30 mph its 10 gph... so your sportster is suppose to be very lower than that
