When do I need to run the boat motor compartment fan? All the time or just some of the time? If just some of the time then when?

The purpose of the fan is to remove gas fumes from the engine compartment. You should run it for 5 minutes, turn off and then start the engines. Failure to do so runs the risk of an explosion.
