I have a 2003 seadoo sportster le with 951 rotax carburated motor. can anyone tell me what the normal idle rpm should be while on trailer running with hose water? also I just had a mechanic pull the motor and install a new starter drive (bendix), I got the boat back yesterday and it starts with no problems now however when i put it on the water and give it throttle to go it just revved high and didn't go anywhere but smoked alot. then it started bogging down when I would try to throttle up and would kill. never got the boat to do more than idle speed on the water so I idled back to the dock. when I looked in the engine compartment there was alot of water in there. checked the bilge port on the side and saw that it was clogged so I cleared the clog and hopefully won't have the water problem again. I had water in the motor as a result of this trip on the water so I removed plugs, cranked, fogged, etc to blow the water out then ran for approx 20 minutes on hose to heat up enginge and hopefully get the rest of the water out. my questions are what's the normal the idle speed on the trailer with hose water and would the water in the engine compartment be the cause of the bogging then killing? also see water leaking from head pipe when I was running on hose water and alot of water coming out of bilge port on side of the boat while running the boat with water hose connected. is this normal? thanks in advance for any help.
