Note: This means that no one should have to re-register or re-make any post, so disregard the message below regarding those details. We want to keep the full message available so everyone is aware of what transpired throughout the weekend. Please let us know if you run into any issues and we will address them ASAP!
All,
We experienced a catastrophic outage that was beyond our control over yesterday (01/20) and today (01/21). Our host had a major storage area network (SAN) failure starting about 3:30PM EST yesterday, see here, http://seadoosportbo...2012-outage.php, for additional details. We have been working very diligently over the past 36 hours hours to restore our website. This is not ideal, but due to the situation our host lost ALL data even our weekly backups that were unfortunately stored in the same SAN, so luckily we had a local backup from 30 days ago on 12/20/2011. We have completed a full restore to this backup date and things appear to be looking up.
On the downside, anyone who registered as a member, any posts, and/or anyone who subscribed to the SDSB Club over the past 30 days has been lost. We truly are saddened by this loss, but we are still grateful that we have only lost 30 days days worth of data and not 8 1/2 years worth of data which is the duration that SeaDooSportBoats.com has been online. We will be working over the next couple of days to restore the SDSB Club subscriptions that were purchased over the last 30 days since we have Paypal transactions for these purchases.
As far as those who have registered as a member or that have posted within the last 30 days, we hate to say this but you will need to re-register here, http://seadoosportbo...ection=register. Regarding the posts you may have made, if you feel necessary please re-post your post and we will be grateful. Some these posts may still be syndicated here, http://feeds.feedburner.com/sdsb, so you may be able to pull the initial post from there. Unfortunately any replies still will be lost.
Lastly, if you find that your account was not affected by the outage, but are having difficulty logging in please reset your password here, http://seadoosportbo...ection=lostpass.
Again this is by far some of the worst news for any website to have to deliver, we regret to bring this news but we are hopeful that we will move past this, so please bare with us over the next couple of days/weeks as we work diligently to restore everything back to normal as before the outage.
Please do hesitate to let us know if you run into any issues via this post as this will be helpful to us to ensure everything is back to normal.
Thanks for your understanding and keep on DOO'ing it!
