I also have a problem (sometimes) coming off the plane to stop with steering until below 5 mph. The boat just maintains whatever steering angle I had on the plane reguardless of what I do to the steering wheel until below 5 mph. This is very scary. Has anyone else had encountered this problem and will cobra fins help solve this?
Thanks in advance.

Remember that the gates still have to be raised or lowered when "shifting". So the shifter travel before throttle increases is going to be for physically moving the gates to the proper position. There's still a mechanical component to the control lever even though it's electrically controlled throttle.

I had the same problem and the dealer adjusted the nuetral position to factory specs. Now I only travel in the ahead direction about 2.4 mph vice 4 mph. Does anyone have an instruction guide with photos for the owner to adjust the nuetral. I understand it will take several attempts before I get it to + or - .5 mph as "zero" from everything I've read on the blogs is not really feasible.

The adjustment on my 230 Challenger is at the stern on the gate and held in place by a cotter pin. I believe you can take the pin out and turn the adjustment a bit to push or pull the gate position up or down and put the pin back in and try it out. I'd have to look at my boat to be positive, but it is stored for the winter.
These boats need the pump pumping the water out in order to push the stern around. They need some throttle to turn. Cut the power at speed and you get no water jet from the pump to push the stern. It will just go straight. Definitely need to be on the power to turn the boat at speed. Tough to learn that you need to gas it in an emergency situation. Or, throw it in reverse and then gas it! ALL HANDS MUST HOLD ON TIGHTLY or somebody will get hurt.
