Supercharger Problem

One engine only revs to 6500 while the other is at 8000. I took off the hoses on the Super Chargers and one of the blades spins by hand and the other doesn't.
Is that what happens when the washers go or is there another problem? My "dealer" has changed my oil twice and I mentioned that it could not be synthetic. He said that it was ok now and used a "blend" , whatever that is.
I've put about 4 hours on it since I noticed a difference in the operation. Only once did I open the throttle all the way to see what would happen. Hope that didn't cause more problems.
How difficult is it to replace the washers?
Thanks for any info.

Thanks for the update Dave. Looking forward to hearing what you find out.
Well Kevin, BRP customer service and I talked about it and the horrible service I received from the previous dealer. I talked with a very understanding fellow. He suggested I go to another dealer , which I did, Duchess Recreational Vehicles.
I got a call from them the other day and they said that BRP Technical had given the OK to rebuild both Super Chargers, not wanting to take a chance on the second one also going bad.
Finally, I am starting to feel better about this boat and BRP. I will have to live with trailering the boat 1hour and 20 minutes to get there and the same to get home. Then, of course, do it again to retrieve the boat. I am fine with that as long as I get some good service for a change.
More after I pick it up and find out what the cost is for things at this dealer.
Later,
Dave

I'm glad I finally have a good story to tell with this boat.

Looks like I'm having the a problem with my 2008 Challenger 230 SE 430hp with about 50 hours on it.

EDIT: Whoops. Looks like I missed %90 of this thread, and you've gotten it fixed. That's awesome!
Hi Dave. Sounds like your ceramic shims might have failed as you guessed - especially if you can just turn the tubine blades by hand like that. You really shouldn't run the motor that much more now that you know something is wrong. Bare minimum that oil needs to be changed and filter too.
The shims themselves aren't just replaced alone. BRP offers a shaft repair kit that contains new bearings and a gear and several other parts needed to do a complete rebuild on the blower. You should probably have the other one done at the same time. The new kit will have steel washers with a moly coating instead of ceramic shims.
Good luck, hope this helps some.

BRP should be passing the repair costs on to Rotax.
I hope the rebuilt superchargers last until the next 200 hour or 2 year maintenance check.
