I've seen the description on Sea-Doo's materials, but there's nothing on how it actually mechanically works. What makes it special? What does it actually do? Here's Sea-Doo's description:

An ALL-NEW feature for 2012. The Weedless system is a device controlled from the helm that removes weeds from the engine’s intake grate. It all means less maintenance – and much more time on the water.

Anyone have any idea?

Contacted a dealer. Here's what he had to say:

As far as the weedless system, the sea doo weedless system is a pivot that lets the grates go straight down and is activated by electronics, if you remember the older system it was operated manually with a cable system. New system is much better and can be added to the 2012 models after purchase. It is 600 more from factory, don’t have price on kit for after sale install. This allows the weeds to drop off the grate, and clear it.
