I just bought a used 2004 SeaDoo Sportster 4-tec. In the compartment behind the spotter seat, I was told that it is used as a cooler and all of the melting ice would drain out. Nothing drains. I went to a SeaDoo dealer and they told me that yes, that is what it is, but why wouldn't it be mentioned in the user manual? It almost looks like someone just punched a hole in the bottom of it. I have to use a shop vac to get all of the water out, and when the water seems to be all gone, water comes back in through the hole.
I got a new brochure for the new SeaDoo's, and for the 150 model, they say that it has a built in cooler. But the cooler looks like the black compartment topped with rubber right in front of the steering wheel in the main compartment.
I don't want there to be water in the hull when I put this away for the winter. Any suggestions as to what I can do here?
Also, I can't seem to download any manuals from this site.

First off welcome to the site. I would personally think there should be some type of drain in there, are you sure the hole that is there is not clogged? Our 180 was notorious for getting clogged in the storage areas underneath the rear bench seats.

The black compartment is the dry storage with a rubber seal behind the wheel. On the port side you have the cooler with a small hole punched out for draining. The bilge pump will get all the water out and when you open the drains the rest will come out. Just make sure the hole is not clogged up in the cooler and the drains are not clogged as well.

I have a 2006 4-tec and had the same issue. I just used a coat hanger to clear out the drain hole and to be honest I don't think there was much of a hole all the way down into the hull as I pretty much had to punch a hole through the styrofoam insulating the cooler. Drains very nicely after that.
