Hey all, great forum here.
My neighbor is selling a 1997 Speedster. The boat runs really well, but from reading around the topics, I think I will take everyone's advice and have the engines compression checked before the purchase. Is there anything else I should have checked out?
The boat is in really good shape, but was left outdoors during the summers, so the seats are a little sun damaged and may need some re-apholstery in the future.
Thanks for any pointers.

Thanks, glad to you have you here.
Definitely check the compression, but really just run the boat and make sure it runs to your satisfaction. I say to your satisfaction, because this is typically relative to the individual buying it depending on how mechanically inclined you are. Make sure the boat runs well and is not taking on any water anywhere. Check the condition of the hull thoroughly.
As far as the upholstery goes we have a nice how-to here, http://seadoosportbo...-to-upholstery/, that should you walk you through this.
