Hi from HELLAS (Greece)
I have a speedster (second hand) of 96.
Is there any list or f.a.q. to the Internet about how to winter-izing your boat?
I dont have manuals and my only experience is from my old seadoo jetski.

We had excellent vacations (with our jetboat). Especially September the Aegean sea is calm and you can go from island to island in a snap, but you need a gas station with you!!!

A question for you: sometimes when you full open the gas controls to accelerate, when the rpm are in 5000 goes direct to 7000 but the impellers doesent give power.
I know my english are not so good, but do you know what happens?
Do i need to change impellers? or the plastic ring or something?

Hi Rengen, wow, taking a Sea Doo on the Aegean Sea, that sounds cool. It sounds like your rev thing is just something called "cavitation". The impellers are spinning but not able to get enough water through I guess would be an easy way to describe. You might need new wear rings. I don't know how you check them for allowable amount of wear, Tiggerman or somebody must know and will reply. As for winterizing I followed my manual somewhat but came up with what I think is a better idea. I remove the hose that runs from the jet pump into the head and attach a short piece of hose with a plugged end onto that fitting of the engine head. Then I screw a plug into the water fitting under the rear boarding platform where you could screw a garden hose onto for flushing. Then I start to fill the engine with antifreeze through the hose fitting up above the engine. The antifreeze will run thoughout the engine and you will see it start to come through the clear hose attached to the exhaust manifold. After filling that I clamp off the clear hose and that forces the antifreeze into the large mufflers. I think that's all I do as far as the antifreeze goes, if I'm remembering correctly. Did I miss anything here guys? Of coarse before doing this I run the engines with gas stabilyzer long enough to get the stabil throughout the fuel system. Then I shut off the gas valves while the engines are running to run the carbs out of fuel. Then I squirt some fogging/storage oil into each cylinder through the spark plug holes and slowly turn the engine over by hand to spread that oil around. I unhook the batteries and put them on a charger every once in awhile during the winter. I bring the batteries in to the warm basement for the duration of the winter, not good to freeze them. Did I miss anything?

"Cavitation" exactly! this is what happens. How the h*** i know if its the ware rings? Here in Greece, when you describe the problem to the technitians, they said its impeller problem. (BUT for the jetski and jetboats, its like when you go to the doctor and you said "doctor my tooth" and the doctor cut your head!!!)
Visually i check the impellers and its in good condition. The next week i pull out my jboat and start the winterizing proccess, also i will try to move the pumps and see more clearly what is the problem.
Any help is welcome....
(Maybe i will start to shoot step by step photos for all the proccess and then send it to the gallery.)

Bob hit the nail on the head on everything. You can check wear ring / impeller clearance with a feeler gauge. Maximum clearance should be no more that .040 inch (1.02mm). Check also your carbon ring seals on your driveshaft. Most likely one of these places is your culprit. If you can see any gouges in your wear rings, replace them. A scuffed appearance is considered normal.
