intake grate bolts

i had some rocks stuck in my intake grate 2004 speedster le, when i tried to rmove the grate i guess 2 bolts were too tight and they snapped is this common, also what is the easy way to get the studs out? drill and easy out? not too sure what to do

the front two bolts have nuts located in the engine compartment. unfortunately they are located under the engines. if you attempt to unscrew these, you will snap these. then you will have to pull the pump, driveshaft, and raise engine up a bit to get to them. easier to pull the pump to get to items stuck in grate area, ie rocks, ropes.
