Have an 07 Speedster 150 (non Super Charged). I was at the lake Sunday and had the boat moored/roped near the shoreline not even 6ft out. My brother went to go move the boat to a closeby floating dock, (where the water is deep and people can board).. Instead of pushing it out where you'd have a 3ft draft and starting the motor, he starts it right where it was (in the very shallow area) and it seems as though it sucked up a bunch of sediment (perhaps small pebbles, dirt, lake sand etc)... He reversed out and in the deeper water when attempting to run it approx 10mph / 2000RPM, the boat bogged down and did not wanna GO! You could hear a nasty noise coming from the rear as well!

Ran it for not even 2-3 extra minutes trying to see what would happen, but had no luck! Bogged down boat that didn't wanna GO and the continued nasty noise coming from the back! Made it to the dock, parked it and tied it up there. The boat sat there for approx 2 hours. Went back, started it and "magically" it worked! Reverse, forward, neutral, nasty noise vanished. Drove it out into the lake 55mph, 6000,7000RPMs, no problem! Ran like normal! We then pulled it out of lake and trailered it. Inspected the rear gate/jet area and saw nothing! Inspected the rear underside, nothing! Everything looked fine!

Should I be concerned?

Definitely sounds like you had ingested something that was stuck in there which was causing major vibration and cavitation. You might have got lucky and what ever was in there floated its way out while it was sitting at the dock.

If it is running okay, the only thing I would be concerned about is the wear ring. Whatever was in there might have rashed it up some which will cause you cavitation in the long run depending if any damage was done or you might have gotten lucky with no damage at all.

We have experienced both types, once we sucked a baseball cap - pulled it out and no damage at all. Another time we stuck up a small stick which cost us a new wear ring.

I floated into the shallow end in my 2002 not paying attention and Jammed a idaho size potato rock up against the Prop inside the grate.... had to go slow back across the lake pull the boat out and get underneath it to dislodge it from the grate/prop chewed the crap out of it.I filed back down on the edges... Dose that thing do any good???:-) The grate.....
Im sure it dose in most cases. weeds ect..
