Hi all, bought a condo with a dock, wife wants a Speedster, do these things have a closed cooling system, or will I have to freshwater flush after use? What else needs to be flushed after use? Is a boat lift mandatory for these types of boats? If you have to run the motor to flush, can you do so with the boat on a Jet Dock? Thanks all....
saltwater slip

First off, welcome aboard.
I'm not a salty,but... the newer models have closed loop systems. They will have an anti-freeze/coolant overflow bottle just like a car. It is recommended that you inspect everything at 10 hour intervals on salt water and flush the exhaust system daily. This consists of hooking a garden hose to a nozzle by the jet pump, turning the engine on, water on, run 20 sec, shut water off, shut engine down. I trailer the boat in fresh water, but usually flush each time.
I haven't seen anything anywhere indicating a lift is mandatory.
Hope it helps and happy boating.

It is highly UN-recommended to leave a SeaDoo in salt water. Barnacles, slime, and other nasties will make the pump impeller and housing their home. Anti-fouling will not adhere to the pump because of the high speeds and water volume involved. Folks that live on the (salt) water, will keep their SeaDoos either on a lift or out of the water on a floating ramp-dock made for that purpose. The main cooling system is closed, but the exhaust cooling (and the inter-cooler on supercharged engines) use raw water. Imagine trying to flush out a barnacle that entered the system as a baby but has grown to full size in your coolant hose.
Live long and prosper.
