Hi Im new here from B.C Canada
I just bought a Seadoo Challenger made 2005 been in fresh water whole life.
Is there a Stainless steel grate to replace the Alum factory grates.
Its a 2005 Challenger with a 185 Hp Rotax SC engine.
I hear theses grates break off fingers and total the drive prop ?
Any part numbers would be great.
Was this system used in 2005 better than the newer hydrosurge ?
My system uses a dash switch which lowers the grate then it flips back up on its own after 10 seconds.
Why did Seadoo change to Hydrosurge ?
Was it because that cable cause leaks ?
I like this system as i controll when its fliped.

Your boat has ICS which was prone to mechanical issues in many boats so SeaDoo did away with it. When it worked it worked great, but one many occasions it was causing more issues than it was worth.
However they are re-introducing a similar concept for the 2012 line-up.

Thanks for the Reply.....
So how do i know if it has probs or not?
Can i try it on the trailer outa the water? I bet its never been used.
I think im gona get a Stainless one custom made as i dont like Alum that can break off fingers.
Or should i just get a new Alum one maby the newer ones are better made?
S/S would weight alot more maby the cable or motor would have issiues lifting it.

I do not have much experience with them, but I would imagine you could test it out of the water. Hit the button on the helm and you should see it open/close.
I would ask your dealer about the weight of the SS one as like you said it might cause some issues with the mechanics due to the extra weight. Keep us posted.
