What do you guys think about the all new 180 SP?

To me this looks the same as the new SE model with all the smart throttle control etc. The only diffrence being the compulsory tower, nice orange color including the trim.

Any idea how much it is compared to the SE models?

Pricing has not been released yet but it should be released late August to early September.

The only other thing this has over the SE model is Ski Mode. How much diffrent is ski mode to the other itc controls?

The main advantage of ski mode is for water sports. It allows you to set the ramp (1-5) which determines the acceleration to pull the rider out of the water and then set the target speed relevant to the ramp selected. This way you can set it and focus on driving and watching your rider, it eliminates the need for constant throttle adjustment. We have it on our 210 Wake and I must say it makes a HUGE difference for water sports.

That Ski mode is a huge selling point, Being able to set your own ride, and having anyone pull you perfectly every-time is huge.... We're in the market to buy this winter, and we're already considering this one. If only there was a 180 Wake....lol

I like but I think all new Sea Doo's should come with Hydro-Turf as an option instead of carpet.

Yeah, there are allot of little options that are available standard on the wake model but not on the 180 SP

(Tank Ballast, Tower speakers, Touch screen helm, Single shift lever, Wrap around seating, Wakeboard racks (swivel), Light bar, Swim platform storage, Transat seats, Stainless rub-rail, Usb control Stereo, 125W amplifier, and a heater.)

Probably more but that's what i got on my list to compare.

Looking at buying a new challeneger 180se or waiting for the new 180sp. Have a couple questions. First are there any good deals at the beginning of the year say around april or may? Is it better to wait till August when they are getting rid of current year models? I have a few dealers in Rochester, neither have any 180se models in stock. Second, what kind of deal would I be ableto get off msrp, minus any rebates? Seem to be a big price difference in models. Dont mind the sportster 150 but would like a bit of room to get up and walk around.

I have put about 6 hrs on my 180 sp and I love it so far...the only thing that I have to get used to is how low the bow rides at low speeds. I had some water come in the boat while crossing a wake.

Well we had our challenger 180 sp in the water for the second time and went wakeboarding for the first time and had a blast!!! Way better than the little sportster le we had !!! We love the tower and all we did to fit it our garage was just take the tower off ... It only take a few minutes to do so .. I had made a rack to set it on and the only thing is that you need two people to remove it!!
