Finally had my '96 Speedster out on the lake and opened it all the way. All I can say is, wow, it sure was a fast ride but very smooth. I'm loving it - it sure is worth every penny.
One of our friends actually had 6 people in the Speedster and they were flying. Don't know how fast they were but it sure looked fast looking at it skipping across the water.
Fast Ride

Sounds like a good time was had by all.... I hate to be a stick in the mud, but remember that your Speedster has a US Coast Guard rating of 4 persons... for a reason. The boat may be capable of 6 folks, but the marine police may frown on that.....just be safe.
If you want a accurate speed measurement, get a cheap GPS and take her out. You may be surprised at what you see.

Thanks Tiggerman - I told them that and warned them that they could be ticketed by the Ranger and they told me they'd be responsible for it if they get it. Luckily, it was between shift so there were no patrol out in the water because their boat was in the dock.
The lake we took the boat to has strict rules that you cannot spin your boat 180 degrees, 360 degrees, no radical maneuvers, etc. I was warned the first time I did a spin move (actually it was the first time I was caught but was probably the 10th time that morning!!!). The Ranger was nice enough to let me go with a warning after I explained to him that I just bought the boat and was my first time there and I was trying the maneuver in case of an emergency. I wanted to make sure that I understand how the boat operate and so on and so forth!!! Most of it was actually true.
