Does the Cobra Jet steering help in no wake situations? Has anyone used a single engine setup with one installed? Thanks for all input.

I have the CobraJet steering installed on our X-20 with 240efi Merc. I would say it does help, maybe not as much as the Yamaha guys benefit from them on their boats though. I do wish it helped more while in reverse. The steering is not horrible on the Mercs as long as one remembers that steering on these at slow speed is almost a lock-to-lock affair.
What I mean is we don't see much change in direction unless the wheel is at full lock one way or the other. Anything in between could send the boat in a number of directions. I am referring mostly to running the boat in reverse of course.
In forward, the cobra jet steering does help quite a bit more. I have posted pics on here during and after my install. These were not tough to install, but there was quite a bit of discussion on the lack of directions and preciseness of installation. I can understand that discussion, but it did work.
Email me if you want pics.

I wonder if the installation would void the warranty?

Thanks for the help. I am still working in trying to understand reverse I have had prop boats for 25 plus years and it feels like reverse works backwards to me that you turn the wheel left to go right and visa versa.
