Hello,
I have a 2008 c180 with 23 hrs. It was working great on memorial weekend, but went out yesterday and WOT is 6400 rpms max 30 mph. I use to average 7900rpm 45 mph at WOT. All that I change since memorial weekend was a blown 10amp rec fuse, when I plugged a airpump into the 12v outlet.
The boat is up to date on its maintenance schedule thru the dealer.
I read in some posts about the SC going out. If this did happen. It would explain the loss of top end speed, but wouldn't I have gotten some engine light error,rough idling, smoke, odd noise or no power at all?
I have none of these signs above, low end power is good just no more top end.

Just had mine rebuilt after losing it at 50 hours. Same problem. Had to remove the motor to fix it right. 6400 rpms exactly 38 mph lost one washer in the motor.

Hows your doo rinning since the rebuild? I pretty much think that is issue too. Will be bringing it to dealer tomorrow. Was your repair covered under warranty? Did they rebuild the SC with SS washers and rebuilt the oil pumps? Also how long did they have the boat for? Sorry for all questions just curious about what to expect.

sorry for the delay been busy at work. Since the rebuild works great. 7900 rpms top speed of 56. They did use the stainles washers and no it was not under warranty. cost me around 950 and had it for a week. The either replaced the oil pump or rebuilt not sure. I bought the boat used a month earlier and it broke shortly after. had a few good days on the lake and then the loss of power. Luckily they only charged me for the parts and a couple hours of labor.
