I was a t some hydr races on Lake Sammamish yesterday and a SeaRay dealer was there selling boats, they have a 2000 SeaDoo Speadster with the merc 240HP with 10 hours on it for $9500, not a scratch on it, was wondering what people thought of this boat and price? Thanks!

10 hours sounds broke in, but hardly used. Seems fair from what I can see. I would bet bluebook would be less than that though. Don't let low hours fool you either, someone could have abused it plenty in 10 hours. Find a dealer that will not shy away from the merc and have it looked at.

If its a 2000, that is a 16 ft boat. That price is kinda high.

The biggest issue you will have is the Merc. engine. There are not many dealers that work on sport boat merc's. Most Sea Doo dealers don't work on them and most Mercury dealers don't work on sport boats only outboards. Parts are also sometimes hard to find. Make sure either you can fix it yourself or you have a shop close by that will work on them. Even finding the service manual can be a problem. Most Sea Doo manuals do not cover the Merc engines, they refer you to a Mercury manual.
