Just bought an o4 Speedster LE with the 947. After about 4 minutes on the water the oil light and buzzer comes on. The first time I shut it down and double checked the oil level and everything looked fine. After sitting about 4 minutes I took off and the light went off with the sound of another buzz. I thought everything was ok. Now the light and buzzer comes on after about every 3 or 4 mintues of running. Then after about 3 or 4 minutes of running another buzzer and the light goes out. Seems like the engine is getting oil because if it wasn't, it would probably be locked up right now. Just wondering what would make the light and buzzer act this way. Or is it actually stopping oiling every so often? Any help is greatly appreciated. Ben.

Sorry. I meant to type Sportster, not Speedster.

The oil light is controlled by a sensor in the oil tank and refers to the level of oil in the tank. There is no sensor that tells if the engine is getting oil. I would suspect that the sensor in the oil tank is either bad or has a loose connection.
