HI all,

After many years of wanting a Seadoo jet boat I finally managed to save up and purchase one. It's a 2011 Speedster 150. So far, loving it.

Are there any things you guys recommend I should be doing with this? I'm looking at hydro turfing. I'm also looking at putting in some additional noise dampening as it is still kind of noisy when I just want to putter around the lake.

It handles like a dream. I have never driven a boat like this. It's indescribably fun.

BTW, does anyone know what the top speed of the 150 is? I have the 1.5L injected engine.

Hydro-turf is definitely a must.

I also have a 2011 150 Speedster and love it. I have the snap in carpet option and like that alot. Soft on the feet, pevents slipping, doesn't get hot, dampens some noise and can be removed to clean the carpet and the deck below it. I am sure that Hydro-Turf is a good product, but I just have never trusted pressure sensitive adhesives to last years and years and years, especially in hot and wet situations.

You mentioned that you had the 1.5 liter engine, they all come with that base engine, the question is whether or not it is naturally aspirated or if it's the optional High Output supercharged and intercooled engine. Having said that, I do not really know much about the top speed of either engine.

Good luck with the boat. Also, call your dealer and make sure your boat was not one that was affected by the recall from BRP to change out the Throttle Gear Shift Assembly. I have a post about that in the Speedster 150 section of the forum.

Thanks for the info. I GPS'd it and it gets to about 50mph.

I had the dealer put in some sound dampening foam in the engine compartment which has helped and I plan to add some more later this Summer. I'd like to have my cake and eat it too -- quiet cruiser at slow speeds and a monster at high speeds.

Been very pleased thus far though I have made every newbie mistake out there. So far, I've sucked up a rock that required some dealer work and I sucked up our tow line which required us to cut it out to get back going.

If anyone can point me to a FAQ that gives newbies like me some tips on avoiding problems I'd appreciate it. I'm probably more inclined on carpet versus the hydroturf only because of the extra comfort and sound dampening.
