Hello everyone. I'm a new member here after lurking for so long on my eternal quest for my first boat. For a while I've been debating so many choices ranging from Sea Ray, Tahoe, Glastron, and Sea Doo. My primary concern was fitting a boat in my 20 foot garage. This narrowed my list down to a few options and I just keep coming back to the SeaDoo 180 Challenger SE. It just seems to win on most of my criteria (Size, Performance, Safety, Looks). The only thing it's missing for me is a stainless rub rail, but I can live with the rubber.
I'm all set to purchase a 2011 in Black now that I've made up my mind. Anything I should try and negotiate in with the sale?
Stan from Jacksonville, FL.

First off, welcome aboard! Did you get the optional waketower? Really curious about how easy it is to put up and down.
I don't know about the negotiation aspect, as when I bought my 2010 in September it was almost impossible to get one late in the year. Of course with the economy...
Make sure you are ordering a swing tongue trailer, too. There are a few posts of people who did not get the swing tongue.
Another thing, the boat actually hangs about 38" off the back of the trailer. Now I park mine in a 2 car garage, and it fits at an angle on a 19'4"x10'4" pad, and I don't have any problem getting my 4runner in on the other side, at the opposite angle (wouldn't want to ding the boat with the door!)
Also, I ended up tacking carpet padding and outdoor carpet to a 1x12 and putting it along the back wall. Even pushing it in the last 2 foot or so by hand it put some nice size dents into the drywall. Didn't hurt the boat at all though

I bought mine a couple of months ago and took advantage of the free 2 year extended warranty. I did get them to drop the price a bit as it is a new 2010 hold over.

Stealth180,
I don't know where you live and if there are any big boat shows you can get to to actually make the purchase of your boat, because sometimes at the big boat shows BRP will offer a nice extended warranty at no charge. In my case, I bought a 2011 Speedster 150 at the Nashville Boat show (in January) because BRP was offering a 4 year B.E.S.T warranty for boats purchased at the show. So I have 5 years of total warranty because of that. I just got the paperwork in the mail from BRP, my boat is covered until March of 2016. The time starts when you take delivery of the boat.
So call your dealer, call BRP, search on the internet and see if there is a big boat show coming that you can get to and see if a warranty deal will be offered.
Good luck,
Gordon
