So I wanted to report on the issue that I have. I have a 2006 Challenger 180 CS 215 SCIC. Had excessive smoke coming out of the exhaust port on the last day of the season last year (2010).
The diagnosis is that the bearings failed in the supercharger housing causing the impeller to wobble. This wobbling caused the impeller to eat the inside of the housing essentially destroying the supercharger from the inside. So, they are dropping a new supercharger in. The parts alone are around $830.
I haven't got th boat back yet, so I will let you all know if this resolves my issues. I had top speed issues since we've owned the boat. Perhaps a new supercharger will resolve this.
I should also mention that I had replaced the ceramic washers with the BRP titanium kit when they were released in 2007.

Wow, that is crazy. How many hours did you have on it?

The boat has 112 hours on it. I whole heartedly believe that the supercharger has never worked right since I owned the boat. It never really got a good top speed and never felt powerful.
