Seriously though, I can imagine a situation like that scaring the bejeezus outta you. However....I'm not sure why, as captain of the boat, you: 1) called "ABANDON SHIP!" and 2) you didn't stay behind. Don't you know a Captain is suppose to go down with his ship??
And just to re-iterate - even though this "sub move" is done for fun, practicing it could be a real lifesaver in the event one needs to do a panic stop. That's one thing we've got going for us that propellar driven boats don't - i.e. to literally stop in one boat length.
Personally - I like to do mini sub moves. The ones that don't get the bow completely under, but doo throw up a decent bow wake. It's funny to watch the reaction on people's faces on other boats when they see your Doo suddenly take a nose dive.

1) I didn't call abandon ship. Every one just jumped out. and I was the last out. 2) I got out also for fear that the boat wouls try to roll over. It got very unstable that full of water. 3) Its not a ship, more like a dingy. A fast dingyRemind me to never ride with you TX-Doo.

Have you had a chance to check out your reverse gates to see if they are still in good conditions after the sub moves? I've been thinking about trying it but afraid that my gates may come right off if I'm going too fast. How fast were you moving when you attempted that maneuver?
The Sea Doo don't sink do they, unless the hull is damaged? I thought they are built like the PWC?

The reverse gates are in good shape. My local dealer said I would brake them. I told him that if I brake them I will fix them. I go about 45 mph and shut down the throttles. Pull the shift lever to reverse but don't force it. You will have to pull it firmly. When lever is in reverse give it full throttle. The severity of the sub-move depends on how long you hold the throttle. I like doing it and it is fun. I will probably brake the gates someday. Also, you're correct. SeaDoo boats don't sink.TX-Doo -
